A shop-vac gets the visible puddle. Our Water Extraction process is built for what's still soaking into materials underneath, which is where the real damage lives.

We measure extraction success with a moisture meter against a dry baseline, not by how the surface looks or feels, since a floor can appear dry while the material underneath stays saturated.
None of this changes for a small job either — the same standard applies whether it's a single-room water extraction call or a larger one.
We built this list around what typically goes wrong when water extraction gets handled by a generalist instead of a specialist.
Commercial extraction units outpull portable equipment on every surface type we work with.
We test multiple points across the affected area before calling extraction complete.
Local staging near Dexter cuts the wait between your call and equipment arriving.
You know the number before extraction starts, based on what we actually find.
We don't treat water extraction as a single generic task — each piece of the process below gets its own specific approach.
Standing water comes out first, then detailed extraction moves into carpet, pad, and seams.
Specialized wands lift water between boards without forcing moisture deeper into the wood.
Pad gets extracted independently from the carpet surface, since it retains water far longer.
Extraction dwell time gets adjusted based on how porous the specific concrete surface is.
We flag salvageable contents before starting so you're not guessing what to keep.
A final moisture sweep confirms target levels were actually reached before we leave.
Four steps, no guesswork, from your first call to a verified water extraction result.
Dispatch gathers just enough detail to load the right equipment before the truck leaves.
Local staging is what makes rapid arrival possible, rather than a promise with nothing behind it.
The assessment sets the whole plan, so we don't rush it even when the visible damage looks minor.
We stand behind the result with a documented sign-off, not just a verbal assurance.
We don't cherry-pick which water extraction jobs get reviewed — this is a representative cross-section.
"They pulled water from between our hardwood boards without warping them further, which I honestly didn't think was possible."
Jasper L., Dexter"They tested pad separately from carpet, which caught moisture I would've missed entirely."
Rosalind P., Dexter"Extraction from our finished basement slab was handled with a completely different approach than I expected, and they explained why."
Micah S., Dexter"The pad testing caught moisture the carpet surface alone never would have revealed."
Fernanda Q., Dexter"Extraction under a built-in bookshelf unit was handled without us having to empty and move it ourselves first."
